When should I report an accident?

Back to New York Personal Injury Questions

Video Transcription

Accidents should be reported immediately. Same with injuries. If you have an accident, whether it be in a motor vehicle, on a sidewalk, in a building, in a store, uh, call the police. If you’re injured, uh, call an ambulance. Tell the management of the store, uh, any other persons at the store. They’ll probably take a report from you, whether it be the police or whether it be management in a particular facility. This way, your story, what happened, how it happened, uh, is preserved. And most of the time, management takes photographs of the defect and that could be very, very helpful in the litigation down the road.
