Do I have to accept the insurance company’s settlement offer?

Back to New York Personal Injury Questions

Video Transcription

If an insurance company offers you a settlement before you retain a lawyer, you do not have to accept it and it’s best to retain a lawyer and have them negotiate with the insurance company. A lawyer can then evaluate your case, evaluate your injuries, and formulate an amount of pain and suffering that would be proper for your case.
